Name: Evangeline Reinette Jones
Aliases: Called 'Evie' by most of the people she knows, unless they insist on being formal, then it might be either 'Doctor Jones' or 'Evangeline'.
Age: 38
Gender: Female
Model: Rose Byrne
Department: Surgery
Job Rank: Attending.
Appearance: At the age of 38, Evie still looks a lot like she did in her early thirties (except the lines at the corner of her eyes that are slowly getting deeper). It's in her family, all the Jones women have always looked younger than they really are. With dark hair and hazel eyes, Evie isn't considered to be anything special. She thinks herself to be plain and doesn't care much about dressing up. On most days, her hair will be worn up in a messy bun or ponytail with a few short strands that fall out to frame her face. Her skin is only slightly tanned and her nose is dotted with freckles that she wished didn't exist.
When it comes to clothing, she rarely dresses to impress. She is almost always seen in long pants, mostly slightly baggy. Her long sleeved tops are almost always fitting and v-necked, always dark shades. From her style of dressing, she seems like she's given up on herself. For her, it's all a matter of comfort. She knows that she could be spending long hours at the hospital and it's really not like the patients are going to comment on her lack of fashion sense.
She often wears a worried but thoughtful expression but is quick to put up a smile even if it isn't entirely genuine. When her smile is genuine, it can be seen in her eyes that she really means it. No matter how much she may have tried to hide an emotion, of you look into her eyes, you'll know exactly what she's feeling. Her eyes are very expressive and she doesn't like it.
Personality: Evie tends to put up a light hearted, easy going and cheerful manner most of the time but she is the sort of person who is easily angered if she feels that her personal sense of justice had been violated. She likes being in control of things and likes to know what exactly is going on. She is very hard working and puts everything into her job. She the sort of person who wouldn't sit down and rest until she is told to go take a break. Clearly a workaholic, she often needs to be reminded to give herself a break. Evie can be a bit of a perfectionist as times and is therefore very hard on herself, thinking that there was always more that she could have done.
She is probably one of the few who is actually nice to the interns but is also strict. When she's on a case and explaining her point of view on it to others, she tends to talk very fast, sometimes mixing useful information with apparent nonsense (it always makes sense later on.) Evie also isn't the sort of person who would plan for the future, she just takes things in her stride as they come. Although she does not have much of a personal life, she will very rarely talk about it or her past. She often uses a cheerful and energetic façade to mask inner emotions.
Background: While growing up, Evie's life was relatively easy. She was intelligent, and naturally a hard worker, so her parents didn't have much to complain about and her school teachers were kept happy. In truth, she was so busy living up to expectations, that she was almost doing too much and leaving very little free time. She was born in England, Manchester actually but her parents soon moved to London which is probably were she picked up her London-y thingyney accent.((It wouldn't let me say co.c.k.ne.y)) Even though she's been in America for years (ever since she was about 18), her accent hasn't quite changed completely. It's more trans-national now but it's still clearly English.
She married Charles when she was about 27 and in doing so surprised herself. She'd never thought herself to be they type who would settle down so early. Evie was still in her internship years and was working very hard and because of this, she had very little time for her marriage or her new husband. She tried her best to balance both but about a year later, discovered that she was pregnant. She wasn't overjoyed at the news because she knew that she couldn't handle children, not at a time in her life when she was already so busy trying to balance things. Before she managed to tell her husband, she discovered his ongoing affair with a co-worker. Evie knew that she couldn't blame him. She thought it to be her fault as well for not trying harder. They divorced soon and a few months later, Evie miscarried. The end of her short marriage did not surprise Evie, even if she did love her husband but it was the loss of the child that really got to her.
After that point in life, her work meant everything to her. She lived alone in a small house and had very few friends. Most of the people that Evie had been friends with eventually got busy with their families and children. She is more or less content with her life but she just can't help but notice the few grey hair and the fact that she is very lonely.
Educational information: Her schooling was done in England (she did her A-levels), She went to Boston university.
